I need guy advice. please help!?

so i'm going to a new school in a new country. i like this guy, we have no cles together but i always see him in the hallways. i have no cles with his friends either (its a big school) and i dont want to just go up to him and say "hi" cuz that'd be kinda weird.. i dont think he's in any clubs either.. so whatd you do if you were me?
