DNA and superhuman powers?

Hi, I really just wonder if in the future, would human have superhuman powers [ i talking about something like in x-men, or other science fictions] if their DNA is modified. I asked because in some science fiction movie or honor movie, human can have some superhuman power or sometimes they turn into monster which enormous strength. so I would really like to know is it possible so next time when i watch those kind of movies, i know that it not possible even in the future or is it?
