Clinic or Hospital for post accident diagnoses?

My Mother and I were hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk my mom is in a wheelchair. We called a law firm. They sent out an investigator. The investigator said our igned lawyer would recommend us one of the doctors he usually works with. The igned lawyer's istant lost our paperwork. Then our igned attorney, stated that my mom may have a case and that I don't have a case. I am 16 and I was visiting the area to train for figure skating. But, I have not been able to skate since the accident because I am in pain and also I have to cross that very street to get to my training facility. Our only way to get to and from different places is by walking (my moms wheelchair was crushed and the one she had to rent is not meant for outdoor use) and the thought of crossing anymore streets in this area is terrifying. Our Atty recommended we go to a clinic instead of a hospital (the clinic is owned by the hospital). The law firm is acting like we are scammers trying to get money. I don't trust them. What should we do? Also, the firm just called us back today so we have been waiting for over a week to seek medical care because they said they were going to send us to their doctors. I want to be diagnosed properly should I go to the hospital or the clinic?
